Nocturnal update from my isolation

Things have changed so rapidly, not so long ago the focus was on some world leaders whom we were afraid would cause a world war, now we are even afraid to leave our homes because we are fearful of an “invisible enemy” which is not even human.
We spent trillions of dollars developing ways and means to kill others whom we decided are our enemies, may become our enemies or are friends of our enemies.
Now we are in a quandary trying to figure out how to save ourselves form an enemy we cannot kill with the weapons designed for the specific purpose of killing enemies.
So have we progressed or retrogressed?
